How to Play Poker
Poker is a card game that can be a lot of fun. The goal of the game is to win a hand of cards that beats all other hands. The highest ranked hand wins the “pot” which is all the money that has been bet during the hand.
To begin a hand players are usually required to make a forced bet (the amount varies by game, our games typically require a nickel). The dealer then shuffles the deck and deals cards to each player one at a time starting with the seat to their right. The player can then either call or raise the bet. When all bets have been placed the dealer reveals each players hand and the winner is declared.
After the first betting round is complete the dealer puts down 3 cards face up on the table that everyone can use, this is called the flop. Then another betting round takes place.
